5 Tips to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle / Eating Regimen
-
Set Goals: Setting goals is an important part of starting any life-changing regime or routine. It is important to set an achievable goal, though. If you set too high of a goal, you may end up feeling overwhelmed and give up before you even have truly started. So, start off by setting small goals. Everything in moderation. Celebrate the small victories.
-
Eat Properly: You need to make sure that you maintain a healthy eating balance. You should not starve yourself. Make sure that you get all the proper nutrients (Protein, Carbs, Fats, Vitamins, Minerals, and Water)
-
Plan your meals: Planning your meals is part of developing a routine. By developing a plan, you are less likely to snack and go off track. You can pick one day of the week where you plan your meals. It is good to have different meals to create a diverse diet, so you don't get tired of having the same food over and over again.
-
Allot time for meal breaks: It is important to allow time for eating. If you work while eating (which I am guilty of), you will feel more hungry and probably end up eating more.
-
Reward Yourself: It is okay to have "cheat days." In fact, it can actually be a great thing. By planning one day a week to have food you consider a treat, you can actually stimulate weight loss. If you have one day that you are looking forward to, you can prevent binge eating and reduce cravings. It also gives you a nice mental break from dieting and can boost your metabolism.
